Karamtara Engineering has raised Rs 262.50 crore from anchor investors ahead of its IPO, which opens for subscription on September 9. The company allotted 1.03 crore shares to 15 anchor investors at Rs 254 per share, the upper end of the IPO price band. The price includes a share premium of Rs 244 per share. The anchor book saw participation from domestic mutual funds, insurance companies, alternative investment funds and foreign institutional investors. Out of the total anchor allocation, 46,85,121 equity shares were allotted to five domestic mutual funds through six schemes. The mutual fund investors included HDFC Mutual Fund , Nippon India Small Cap Fund, Mirae Asset ELSS Tax Saver Fund, Motilal Oswal Manufacturing Fund, Motilal Oswal Infrastructure Fund and TrustMF Small Cap Fund. Other investors in the anchor book included HDFC Life Insurance Company , SBI Life Insurance Company , Singularity Equity Fund I, Authum Investment and Infrastructure, Elm Park Fund, Societe Generale - ODI, Duro India Opportunities Fund Pte, Susquehanna Pacific Pty and Edelweiss Life Insurance Company. Karamtara Engineering Ltd has fixed the price band for its Rs 875 crore IPO at Rs 241-254 per equity share, with the issue set to open for subscription on Wednesday, September 9. The IPO will close on Friday, September 11. The allotment is expected to be finalised on September 15, while refunds and credit of shares to demat accounts are likely on September 16. The stock is expected to list on BSE and NSE on September 17. The lot size has been fixed at 59 shares. At the upper end of the price band, the minimum retail application size works out to Rs 14,986. The company’s market cap at the upper price band is estimated at Rs 8,174.3 crore. The company is having a decent GMP of around 15% over the issue price. Karamtara Engineering IPO details The IPO comprises a fresh issue of 2.66 crore shares worth Rs 675 crore and an offer for sale of 78.74 lakh shares worth Rs 200 crore. In all, the offer consists of 3.44 crore shares. The offer is being made through the book-building route. Not more than 50% of the net offer will be available for qualified institutional buyers, not less than 15% for non-institutional investors and not less than 35% for retail investors. JM Financial is the book-running lead manager to the issue, while MUFG Intime India is the registrar. Live Events About Karamtara Engineering Incorporated in 1996, Karamtara Engineering manufactures products for the renewable energy and transmission line sectors. Its portfolio includes solar mounting structures, fixed-tilt structures, tracker components, fasteners and overhead transmission line hardware fittings. The company positions itself as a one-stop supplier for solar structures and transmission-related products. It has also been entering the wind energy segment by setting up a manufacturing facility for tubular towers for wind turbines. As of March 2026, Karamtara had a global presence with exports to more than 50 countries across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Latin America. The company served 48 customers for solar products in FY24, 73 customers in FY25 and 65 customers in FY26. Karamtara’s key strength is its backward-integrated manufacturing model. The company has in-house galvanising facilities with capacity of 2,58,000 MTPA, which it says is the largest in India’s solar energy sector. It also has rolling mill furnaces, giving it better control over cost, supply chain and delivery timelines. Its solar energy products include fixed-tilt structures and tracker components used across different types of solar projects. In transmission, the company manufactures lattice towers with capabilities up to 1,200 kV. As of September 30, 2024, it had supplied more than 0.5 million MT of towers globally. The company also manufactures fasteners for solar, wind, transmission, automobile and telecom industries. These include bolts, nuts, studs, washers and customised fasteners for global clients and industrial applications. Financials Karamtara Engineering reported total income of Rs 4,316.36 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 3,165.36 crore in FY25 and Rs 2,427.12 crore in FY24. Profit after tax rose 64% to Rs 228.75 crore in FY26 from Rs 139.33 crore in FY25. In FY24, the company had reported PAT of Rs 102.65 crore.
